World Events

We are challenged in Psalm 122:6 to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem". In view of world events annd what is happening in the Middle East this challenge to pray is even more critical.

The Jerusalem Post reported that snipers from Gaza opened fire on Israeli civilian vehicles at the Yad Mordeclai junction on July 9. Bullets shattered the back windscreen of one vehicle, leaving broken glass on a empty car seat of a seven month old baby.  On its facebook page, the IDF spokesman's office posted a message under title, "Firing on babies, Hama's true face.  The IDF will not allow the harming of innocent babies and the citizens of Israel.

In an article, "Christian Zionists, Israel's greatest asset and best friend." The Jerusalem Post reported the following Christian radio and television networks in America are broadcasting Israel's message around the world.  Millions of Evangelical Christians are proud to be considered Israel's best friends and supporters.  They are not ashamed to speak out against the pro-Muslim and pro-Arab actions of Barak Obama and they are bold enough to encourage the US Congress to stand strongly with Israel.

The God of Israel does not need anyone to support Israel, but He tends to work through the hands, hearts and voices of men.  One voice Israel can count on is the heartfelt cry of the Evangelical Christian, who stands with God with Israel, whose voice is loud in the politician's ear.

As I close let me remind every child of God that Gen. 12:3 says, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed".  Let us pray for our nation and its leaders. We need to be prayer warriors and follow John 15:16 and John 16:24, so that our prayers will be effective and that the power of God will be brought to bare on these critical issues.

Until He Comes,
